Richard P. Miller
President and CEO, Virtua Health

Richard P. Miller is the President and CEO of Virtua Health, a multi-hospital healthcare system headquartered in Marlton, New Jersey. Since 1998, Miller has led the system in innovative directions by creating a values-based culture defined by the “Star Initiative,” adopting Six Sigma, creating a learning lab environment, partnering with industry leaders such as GE, and beginning the transformation of a group of community-based hospitals into technologically advanced regional medical centers.

Creating innovative alliances has been a part of the Miller’s success formula. In addition to an enterprise alliance with GE Healthcare, Virtua has formed clinical alliances with nationally renowned organizations such as the Fox Chase Cancer Center and the Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital for Children.

While developing and leading groundbreaking strategies, Miller stays close to the communities that Virtua serves.  He is a member of the boards of the March of Dimes of Southern New Jersey, the American Heart Association and the Chamber of Commerce of Southern New Jersey.  He serves as vice chair of the New Jersey Hospital Association.

Miller is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves as a trustee of the National Quality Forum.  A graduate of Mount St. Mary’s College, he earned his MBA from Southern Illinois University.
