ACADEMIC SERVICES - APRIL 2009 Official Notices The Dean’s Office of the School of Business-Camden (SBC, School 52) will list new policies, procedures and/or changes for the benefit of the University community. It is the students’ responsibility to be informed. Please pay careful attention and make every effort to be aware of policies that may affect you. Official notices will be published in the Gleaner the first week of the month. Please direct your questions regarding these notices to sbcinfo@camden.rutgers.edu.
(1) Important Add/Drop (withdraw) deadlines for the Spring 2009 Semester A) The last day to withdraw from (drop) a course without academic penalty and receive a “W” grade is April 6th. After March 30th, withdrawals must be processed in-person at the Registrar’s Office. B) The last day to withdraw from all courses without academic penalty and receive a “W” grade is April 20th. (2) Business Policy Enrollment (Effective January 2009) Only students who have completed the Business Core (see your curriculum worksheet) and have completed at least 90 credits will be permitted to enroll in Business Policy (52:620:450). Students should meet with an Academic Services advisor to adjust graduation plans to comply with this policy, if needed. There will be no exceptions or considerations for special circumstances! (3) Registration Restrictions for NON-School of Business-Camden Students (sch 50 or 64) Any student not enrolled in the School of Business-Camden (sch 52) and who has not declared a business major will NOT be permitted access to upper level business courses. (4) New Jersey Community College Graduates (AA or AS only) Transfer students, who graduated from a NJ Community College with an AA or AS degree in May 2008 or after, may be eligible for the provisions of the “Lampitt Law.” Students must present proof of graduation with GPA information to the Academic Services Office to confirm eligibility within their first year. (5) Intra-University (School to School) Transfers to the School of Business All students who plan to transfer to a different college within the University must do so using the School to School (S2S) intra-university transfer application process. CAREER CENTER The last on-campus job fair took place on March 31st but that doesn’t mean we stop connecting students with job and internship opportunities.
For the Seniors (Class of 2009) the Center is sponsoring two Job Search Seminars (FINDING A JOB IN TODAY’S MARKET) on April 7 from 12:30 – 1:15 and again on April 16th from 5 – 6 pm. Both sessions will take place in the lower level of the Campus Center near the Career Center. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Email: careercenter@camden.rutgers.edu and include your name and your SBC major. Students who participate will receive a copy of The Quick Job Search by J. Michael Farr and the NACE Job Choices Magazine for Business and Liberal Arts Graduates.
