ALUMNI NEWS

The ReUnion 2008 will take place this year on Saturday, May 17, 2008 on the Rutgers – Camden Campus (yes, before Commencement even happens). The ReUnion is a great chance for us to welcome you into the Rutgers University Alumni Association and for you to connect  with classmates one final time before commencement, network with     our alumni from previous years (and various work fields) and say  your good-byes to some of your favorite professors. This year’s ReUnion will take place on the Rutgers –  Camden Campus on May 17th with a variety of programs and events throughout the day. There will be a very special Class of 2008 reception that will take place from 4:30pm – 6:30pm on the Campus Quad. *  Special Alert for Accounting Majors+++++Class of 2010 & Class of 2011 * * *

The Career Center has just learned that the Big 4 accounting firms have decided to change their recruiting methods this fall.  They will interview sophomores and juniors only during the fall semester, as early as the first week of October, with resume deadlines in early September.

On-campus Recruiting for 2009 Summer Internships (for Juniors) and potential Summer Leadership programs (for Sophomores) with Big 4 firms will take place in October 2008, concurrent with recruiting for full-time positions (Class of 2009).

These are great opportunities for gaining experience for a career in public accounting.  Paid internships at these firms include training and other activities with interns from other schools.  Many interns receive full-time job offers.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS

The Career Center will hold a special seminar on Thursday, August 28, 2008 to provide information on how to prepare for these highly competitive interviews.  Students will receive correspondence with more details during the summer.

Thanks and keep in touch.
