Business Leader Development Program (BLDP)

We experienced some confusion during the spring semester, with the departure and Program Director Allie Miller.  Gayle Porter has stepped in as interim director, and things are returning to a normal process.  However, one offshoot of that temporary confusion was a low number of applications to the program and for the fall 2011 seminar.  Current applications are still being reviewed; however, the seminar is not at maximum yet.  If you had thought about applying and thought it was too late to do so, this could be a chance for you to still put in your application.

Please refer to the web pages to read more about the BLDP:  http://camden-sbc.rutgers.edu/BLDP

Becoming a part of this program allows you develop your leadership skills, better document leadership activities that will be of interest to future employers, and with completion of the program earn an honors distinction on your transcript at graduation.  Additionally, the seminars offered each semester are unique classes not otherwise available to students.  The fall 2011 seminar is titled “Business Success” and geared toward information to not only help you get the job you want but also to help you achieve career success from that point on.  There is heavy emphasis on direct interaction with business executives who will share their success stories and offer tips to help you move forward in the business world.

Again, please take a look at the web pages.  If you have interest, get an application and your reference letters in as quickly as possible.  Review of applications will continue until qualified students have been identified for the last few spots.

 Internships

RISE TO THE CHALLENGE

EXPERIENCE A SCHOOL OF BUSINESS INTERNSHIP THIS FALL!

HOW?  Give Mr. Haro, Internship Coordinator of the School of Business Undergraduate Program a call if you are in your upper level courses in your major, and leave a message.  He will return your call, if he isn't in, to discuss a time convenient for coming in for an initial interview.

   (PHONE:  856-225-6677)

WHEN?  NOW!  The sooner you apply the greater your chance of experiencing employment that can test your talents in your major and offer opportunities for "fast track" growth.

WHY?  Employers are looking for young talent that can contribute to a company's success and at the same time give students "real" world experiences that will assist them in their career path.

BENEFITS TO YOU?  A strong addition to your resume; enhancement of credentials and social and interpersonal growth that employers are demanding in this too often "sound-bite" world.

“ICING ON THE CAKE?"  Quite often the Rutgers School of Business Experience leads to full time career positions.
