Expertise: role of accounting information in equity valuation, financial reporting, earnings management, financial distress and bankruptcy

Dr. Janes’ research interests include the role of accounting information in predicting financial distress and the use of accounting information in financial contracting, and his research on behavioral influences in stock markets has been featured in The Economist, Forbes, and The New York Times.  Professor Janes’ professional experience includes time as an auditor and real estate consultant at Ernst & Young.
