MBA Waiver Policy
For most students, waivers may be granted for up to
seven of the following courses. For JDMBA students, waivers may be
granted for up to three of the following courses.
Please note that we are not able to grant course
waivers for on the job experience, work-related training courses, or
certificate courses. Coursework must be taken at an accredited four-year
college or university. We are not able to grant waivers for courses
taken at community colleges.
Required Courses:

Managerial Economics – Two economics
courses taken at an accredited four-year college or university with
a grade of B or better.

Personal Leadership + Communication Skills – Cannot
be waived.

Statistical Methods for Management Decision
Making – Can be waived only by examination. Students scoring 75%
or better on this exam will receive a waiver for this course.

Accounting for Financial Reporting: This
course will be waived for students with either (1) an undergraduate
accounting degree or (2) a CPA certificate. Alternately, the course
may be waived for a student with at least two undergraduate
accounting courses in the financial accounting area taken at
an accredited four-year college or university with a grade of B or
better.

Accounting for Managerial Decisions:
This course will be waived for students with either (1) an
undergraduate accounting degree or (2) a CPA certificate.
Alternately, the course may be waived for a student with at least
two undergraduate accounting courses in the management accounting
area taken at an accredited four-year college or university with a
grade of B or better.
Note: If a student waives both accounting classes, he/she is
required to take at least one upper level accounting course as an
elective.

Managing People and Organizational
Processes: Two courses in organizational behavior or human
resources management taken at an accredited four-year college or
university with a grade of B or better. Note: If a waiver is
granted for this course, the student is required to take at least
one upper level human resources course as an elective.

Operations Management:
Two courses in management science or operations research taken at an
accredited four-year college or university with a grade of B or
better.

Financial Management: Two courses in finance
taken at an accredited four-year college or university with a grade
of B or better. Note: If a waiver is granted for Business Finance,
the student is required to take at least one upper level finance
course as an elective.

Marketing Management: Two courses in
marketing taken at an accredited four-year college or university
with a grade of B or better. Note: If a waiver is granted for
Marketing Management, the student is required to take at least one
upper level marketing course as an elective.

Managing Information Technology and
Resources: Two courses in management information systems taken
at an accredited four-year college or university with a grade of B
or better. An MIS course is one that focuses on theory and its
application in the use of information systems in organizations.
Typically, the course is offered in a school of business. A course
in computing from a computer science department will not be
acceptable. Note: If a waiver is granted for Management
Information Systems, the student is required to take at least one
upper level management information systems/e-commerce technology
course as an elective.

International Business Environment: Two
courses in international business taken at an accredited four-year
college or university with a grade of B or better.
