Alpha Sigma Lambda Gamma XI: Alpha Sigma Lambda is the oldest and
largest chapter-based honor society for full and part-time adult
students. Rutgers Camden Gamma XI chapter was founded in 1982 by then
University College Registrar, Frederick Ekstrom. Candidates for
membership must have earned 75 credits, with at least 45 credits at
Rutgers and attained a 3.5 GPA. Our Rutgers contact person is
Christopher Dougherty, Associate Dean for University College. Each year,
at the induction ceremony, Gamma XI offers a $300 scholarship to a
graduating senior who is a member of Alpha Sigma Lambda and has been
accepted into a graduate program. This scholarship is called the
Frederick Ekstrom Scholarship, in honor of our deceased founder. For

Atheneum: The Athenaeum honor society was founded in 1952 by
Rutgers professors Weissman and Dr. Wentz to encourage and recognize
academic excellence on the Rutgers University-Camden campus. The name:
Athenaeum reflects learning. The ancient Greeks called their temples of
Athena (the goddess of wisdom) Athenaeum. The schools of literature,
oratory and philosophy were also referred to as Athenaeum. Candidates
for membership must be in their junior or senior year at Rutgers-Camden.
Juniors must have a minimum GPA of 3.7 and have completed at least 80
credits at Rutgers-Camden. Seniors must have a minimum of a 3.5 and 60
credits earned at Rutgers-Camden. For more information please contact

New Jersey Collegiate Business Administration Honor Society: At
its Fall 2003 Meeting at Middlesex County College, the New Jersey
Collegiate Business Administration Association (NJCBAA) established a
statewide honor society for students studying business at both the two
and four year colleges in New Jersey. Each year, the top 1% of
undergraduate students pursuing degrees in business will be extended an
invitation to join this most prestigious honor society. The NJCBAA
members are proud to be able to recognize the outstanding academic
