Dr. Baveja's research focuses on developing decision aids
for managers, policy makers and administrators in the service and manufacturing
industries. He has worked on projects involving illicit drugs, crime,
correctional education, location analysis and general management. Dr.
Baveja has co-authored articles in such journals as Mathematics of Operations
Research, Location Science, Computers and OR, Interfaces, Information Processing Letters,
California Management Review,
European Journal of Operations Research, IEEE
Transactions and Socio-Economic Planning Sciences. His work of illicit
drug policy has received national media recognition. Dr. Baveja serves as
ad hoc reviewer for over 15 top scholarly journals and conferences.
Currently he is working on a National Institute of Justice funded project of measuring
crime displacement in urban neighborhoods.
Dr. Baveja is the recipient of Provosts' Award for Excellence in Teaching at Rutgers-Camden, School of Business' Teaching Award, and the Institute of Industrial Engineers Award for "Professor of the Year".
In addition to teaching at Rutgers, Dr. Baveja does volunteer mentoring for minority and inner city high school students. He is the co-founder and active member of a Peace Corps style, not-for-profit organization that provides technical assistance to help catalyze revitalization of rural communities in developing countries.
